(PENN TOWNSHIP) – A one vehicle crash sent two people to the hospital.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 23 year old Rachel
Weamer of South Bend was driving south at 2:48 Thursday morning on Decatur Road near Kelsey Lake in Penn Township. Her vehicle collided with a tree that had fallen and was blocking the road.
Weamer received minor injuries in the crash. One of her passengers, 24 year old Jordan VanGoey of South Bend, was in the backseat of the vehicle and also received minor injuries. A second passenger, 19 year old Rebecca Brewer of South Bend was in the front seat and sustained minor injuries as well.
Brewer and VanGoey were both taken by Life Care Ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for their injuries. VanGoey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Penn Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.
