(BRONSON) – The City of Bronson is getting a new system to help them have better monitoring capabilities and control over their water systems.
During Monday's meeting the Bronson City Council approved purchasing a water and sewer monitoring system and a control system. According to City Manager Brandon Mersman, the cost of the new system is just over $23,000. That includes a three year service plan. A grant will cover $8,100 of the cost.
This new system would allow City staff to operate or switch City well pumps by remote control. It would also allow them to monitor levels in the water tower from a smart phone in the event of an emergency.
Mersman says the new system is also capable of allowing staff to monitor all equipment functions at the city wells, the sewer lift stations and the wastewater treatment plant.
