(MASON TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured in a three vehicle crash in Cass County's Mason Township.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 65 year old William Thorley of Cassopolis was traveling south on Cassopolis Road near M-205 at 9:05 Tuesday night when an oncoming vehicle driven by 32 year old Matthew Degraff of Union crossed the center line and collided with Thorley's vehicle.

Thorley was then pushed into a third vehicle, driven by 64 year old Rickey Secor of Elkhart, which was stopped at the intersection.

Thorley and Degraff were both taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Deputies says alcohol is believed to be a factor in this incident, which remains under investigation. Seatbelts were worn by all the participants.

Assisting were the Porter Township Fire Department, the Edwardsburg Police Department, Michigan State Police, the Edwardsburg Ambulance Company and SEPSA Ambulance.
