(KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP) – The name of a women killed in a Branch County house fire has been released.
In a media release, the Michigan State Police say the victim is 70 year old Jane Hasselschwert.
A call came into Branch County Central Dispatch at 5:20 AM on January 14 of a house fire at 1005 West Shore Drive, on the northwest side of Lake George. The Lakeland Fire Department was the first to arrive and immediately called for back up when they saw the two story house fully engulfed in flames. The Bronson and Fremont, Indiana Fire Departments responded.
The fire was finally brought under control at 7:50 AM. A cause for the blaze is still under investigation by local authorities and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal Division.
