Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In New York

(THREE RIVERS) – A man who is a suspect in the attempted robbery of a Three Rivers bank has been arrested in New York.

The Three Rivers Police Department says 21 year Taylor Jordan Phillips was located and arrested in Erie County, New York. He is awaiting to be extradited back to Michigan.

Phillips was arrested with the help of the Sturgis Police, the FBI and law enforcement agencies in New York.

Three Rivers Police Officers were sent to the Horizon Bank branch on West Michigan Avenue on January 8 at 6:24 PM for an attempted robbery. Just before the bank closed, the teller was passed a note but refused to turn over any money.

As the investigation continued, officers were able to identify Phillips as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued by St. Joseph County District Court on a charge of attempted bank robbery.

More information on Phillips' arrest will be released later today.
