(COLDWATER) – The number of coronavirus cases in Michigan continues to rise.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says as of 3 PM Wednesday, there are now 5 cases of COVID-19 in St. Joseph County. There are also 2 cases in Branch County, along with now 14 cases at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. Hillsdale County has 19 reported cases along with 1 fatality.
Calhoun County has 23 reported coronavirus cases while Kalamazoo County has 30 cases and 1 fatality.
According to data from the Michigan Department of Health And Human Services, there are now 9,334 cases of COVID-19 in the State with 337 deaths.
CHA Health Officer Rebecca Burns reminds everyone to wash their hands frequently with soap and water; disinfect commonly touched surfaces and practice social distancing to help slow down the spread of COVID-19.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, Burns says you should self isolate for 14 days to avoid potentially exposing others. If you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, Burns says you should self quarantine for 14 days and monitor yourself for fever, cough and shortness of breath.
