(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Board of Education received an update on the District's Back To School Plan during their meeting Monday.
Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says a group of 40 stakeholders have been working on this plan since the guidelines were introduced by Governor Gretchen Whitmer at the end of June. He says this group is taking their time to put the plan together so the District will be ready when students return to classes for the 2020-2021 school year. LINKC.
Ebert says the plan will have options available for students who have parents that may not want their children back in a school building. LINKD.
Ebert says there will be teachers specifically dedicated to the “School From Home” program, and those teachers will not teach any other classes.
Ebert says the School District will also need to know by the end of July if families will be bringing their children to school or if they will let them ride the school buses.
Ebert says they hope to introduce the plan to the community by July 20.
