(WOLCOTTVILLE) – A Wolcottville man is facing several charges following a weekend incident.

On Sunday, the LaGrange County Sheriff's Office received a disorderly complaint. The caller said a man was yelling, swinging a wooden stick and did not belong on the property he was on in the 7500 South block of County Road 215 East.

Deputies arrived and found 62 year old Mark King of Wolcottville on the victim's property. King was hallucinating and under the influence of an illegal drug. The investigation revealed King had consumed some methamphetamine on Friday and again on Saturday. He then began to see people trying to steal his property and break into his residence. At some point, King believed he had been in a gun battle with these imaginary people.

King fled to a nearby neighbor's residence where he entered an unsecured garage. He threw an unloaded handgun at the window, breaking the interior pain of glass on the garage door. He left the garage and was located by the police.

Further investigation revealed that King was suffering from what deputies believe was an episode of excited delirium. He was taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital where he was treated and released to the police. King was charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia.

King was interviewed and gave a recorded statement. He also gave written consent for a search of his home, motor home and enclosed trailer. Deputies discovered the interior of the residence had multiple bullet holes that were made from someone shooting inside the dwelling. Three weapons were located at the location. A fourth weapon was seized from a neighbor's garage.

The matter is still under investigation.
