(MENDON) – A Mendon business will be saying good-bye to some of their employees.
IAC Group announced Thursday afternoon that they will be reducing the workforce at their Mendon plant. Julie Noyes, IAC Group Director Of Corporation Communications says 83 hourly employees will be losing their jobs, bringing the total number of employees at the facility to 314.
Noyes says this is a result of a significant reduction in volumes on the General Motors K2XX program, as it phases out by mid 2019. Since there is no replacement business to fill the void, Noyes says the reductions are unavoidable.
Friday was the last day for these employees. Noyes says IAC Group does not have plans to close the plant.
