(CENTREVILLE) – A fire Friday night was reported at the former Village Market building in Centreville.
According to the Centreville Fire Department, they were sent to the former grocery store on M-86 just after 11 PM. St. Joseph County Central Dispatch received several calls from citizens about smoke coming from the building, which is vacant. Firefighters report seeing smoke and flames when they arrived.
Sturgis and Three Rivers are among the many area fire departments that were called in to help battle the blaze. A cause for the fire has not yet been determined.
