Tuesday, April 16, 2019

(MENDON) – Authorities say arrests have been made in connection with the Sunday night robbery of the Mendon Marathon Station.

Michigan State Police from the White Pigeon Detachment say officers were sent to the Marathon Station on West Main Street at 10:30 PM Sunday after an employee called 911 and said they had been robbed at gunpoint.

Police received a call from a citizen about a vehicle on M-60 driving in an erratic manner. Troopers found the vehicle near Zinsmaster Road. It was in a field after striking a utility pole. The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department along with the Mendon and Colon Police Departments arrived and assisted troopers in searching the area.

A State Police K-9 officer and handler were brought in and tracked the suspects through several fields and eventually to Mendon High School. An hour later the four individuals were found hiding in the woods near the high school baseball field. They were all arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.

A search of the vehicle found a weapon, a mask, a bandana and cash.
