(COLON TOWNSHIP) – The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department is investigating a vehicle fire that happened in Colon Township.
Deputies were called to investigate a possible vehicle crash at 2 AM Friday near the intersection of Brandt and Farrand Roads. They located a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was put out, investigators looked over the automobile, which did not appear to have been in a crash. Deputies are investigating the incident as a possible arson and stolen vehicle.
The vehicle is a Pontiac Montana minivan, maroon and gold in color. If anyone has information regarding this case is asked to contact Deputy Mark Mellinger at 269-467-9045, extension 327.
