(INDIANAPOLIS) - Northeast Indiana jobless rates went down in April 2019 from the previous month, but are still slightly higher than they were a year ago at this time.
LaGrange County fell from 3.1 percent in March to 2.4 percent in April. One year ago the rate was at 2.1 percent.
Elkhart County went from 3.2 to 2.6 percent. DeKalb County from 3.1 to 2.4 percent. Steuben County from 3 percent to 2.4 percent. Noble County from 3.4 to 2.6 percent.
Northeast Indiana’s grasp on the lowest rates among the state’s 92 counties is slipping. Steuben County now ranks 82nd, LaGrange County 80th, DeKalb County 76th, Noble County 67th and Elkhart County 65th.
