(BURR OAK TOWNSHIP) – Three people were injured in a two vehicle crash in Burr Oak Township.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Brad Balk says a 27 year old woman from Shipshewana was driving east on Findley Road at 10:46 AM Wednesday, and did not see the stop sign at the intersection of M-66. She struck a north bound vehicle driven by 72 year old Raymond Schlabach of Centreville.
Both Schlabach and his wife, 70 year old Verna Schlabach, were taken to Sturgis Hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The Shipshewana woman was treated at the scene and released.
Balk says possible criminal charges could be filed against the first driver, and the matter remains under investigation.
The Colon Fire Department assisted at the scene.
