(COLDWATER) – A Bronson man has entered a plea, which means he will not be going to trial.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say 27 year old Richard Terlizzi plead no contest to a charge of second degree child abuse during a Thursday pre-trial conference.
Terlizzi was arrested in December 2018 on a charge of third degree criminal sexual conduct after an investigation by the Michigan State Police. In August 2018, troopers were notified by a woman who said her 13 year old daughter had been assaulted by Terlizzi in their Girard Township home.
Troopers say that Terlizzi and a girlfriend of the victim's mother were living at the house after suffering some financial problems. According to Police, other people were sleeping in the home when the alleged incident happened.
Terlizzi is scheduled to be sentenced July 15, and could face up to 10 years in prison.
