Thursday, June 13, 2019

(COLDWATER) – A fire in a former Coldwater school building was put out quickly.

In a media release, the Coldwater Fire Department says they were called to the former Franklin School on South Fremont Street just after 8 PM Wednesday. A small fire was found in a stairwell. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and put it out.

Boards were removed from the windows and doors to ventilate the smoke from the building. A search of the structure determined no one was inside at the time of the fire.

A cause for the fire is still unknown. Assisting at the scene was the Coldwater Police Department along with Life Care Ambulance.
