Fremont Community Schools Dispells Rumors After Health Concern
Saturday Mar 10, 2018 1:47am
Fremont, IN

By: Sheila McCrea

Several police cars and other emergency vehicles were at Fremont High School Friday, but Fremont Superintendent Dr. William Stitt quickly informed the public that it was only for a "health related concern".

In a note that went public, Dr. Stitt explained that "these days seeing police, medical and fire personnel vehicles in front of a school can send shock through a community". Dr. Stitt's communication with the community was intended to dispell any rumors that something harmful was happening that may put students and staff in jeporady.

Although details of the nature of the incident were not given, Dr. Stitt said "the health concern was handled" and area civil service personnel headed back to their normal duties.

Friday's incident at Fremont was not something that involved any harm or danger to students or staff, but Dr. Stitt concluded that the safety of Fremont students and staff "continues to be one of utmost importance".
