(CENTREVILLE) – A recent Glen Oaks Community College graduate has received a scholarship.
Megan Happel of Mendon, who graduated from Glen Oaks with an Associate Of General Studies, was awarded the B. Swartz Scholarship for Excellence In Mathematics. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Glen Oaks student with an outstanding record in mathematics courses. Happel was recommended for the scholarship by Glen Oaks mathematics instructors.
Happel will receive her high school diploma from Mendon in a few weeks. She will then be attending Michigan Tech in the fall to study engineering management and electrical engineering.
The scholarship was created through a donation by Mr. Bernard Schwartz, a former professor of mathematics at Glen Oaks. The student who is awarded the scholarship must be transferring to a four year university after graduating from Glen Oaks.
