(STURGIS) – A woman was arrested on multiple charges Saturday night.
Michigan State Police from the White Pigeon Detachment received a
“Be On The Lookout” report of a possible drunk driver on U.S. 12 traveling trough Sturgis around 7 PM Saturday. The original 911 call came from a concerned citizen who was following the suspect vehicle as it drove erratically.
Troopers located the vehicle and stopped it on U.S. 12 at South Centreville Road. The driver, a 42 year old South Bend woman, was arrested for a second offense of operating while intoxicated and for operating without a valid driver's license.
Further investigation discovered the gray 2017 Chevy Sonic she was driving had been reported stolen from South Bend on Friday.
The woman was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail. Sturgis Police assisted at the scene.
