(UNDATED) – Madeline Chinn has been named the Michigan Miss Volleyball winner for 2018. The presentation was made to the senior at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep last week in front of her classmates. Chinn, a 6 foot 2 senior outside hitter, helped Notre Dame Prep win the Class B state championship last year. They made it to the Division 2 Finals this year, but lost to No. 1 G.R. Christian 3-2. She had 17 kills and 9 digs in the championship match. Chinn was the overwhelming winner of the award, which goes to the state’s top senior. She had 227 points with Jessica Robinson of Troy finishing second (158). Chinn was born in Michigan, then spent her kindergarten through sixth grade years in Texas before moving back home. She has a 4.0 grade-point average and plans to attend and play volleyball at Purdue with a future goal of being a dentist. Other nominees for the award were Kiera Lasky of Bronson, Sidney Schiller of B.C. Lakeview, and Ryann Jaqua of Portage Central.
