(UNDATED) – Some area football players have been named to the Associated Press All State Division 7-8 Team for 2019. First Team All State Honors go to defensive lineman Nick Affholter of Reading, who was also named the Player Of The Year along with twin brother Ben Affholter (LB) and teammate Hunter Midtgard (DB); Alex Thole, Kobe Clark, Parker Lawrence and Trevor DeGroote of Schoolcraft; Matthew Anderson of Cassopolis. All State Honorable Mention goes out to Mendon's Jackson Crotser (RB); Jimmy Downs of Schoolcraft (WR), Lowyind Pullen (WR) and Tyson Schrader (DB) of Homer; along with Romeo Lopez (DL) and Jared Checkley (LB) of Decatur (DL). This year's Coach Of The Year is Don Jess of Charlevoix.
