Constantine's Trenton Stears named to All State football team

(UNDATED) – All State honors have been given to a member of the Constantine football team. Trenton Stears was named Second Team All State for Division 5-6 as announced by the Michigan Associated Press. Named First Team All State were Eric Wenzel and Heath Baldwin of Kalamazoo United. Wenzel was named the Player of The Year in Division 5-6. Wenzel set a state record with 56 touchdown passes, surpassing Stockbridge's Mason Gee-Montgomery, who threw 51 in 2015. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound quarterback completed 219-of-332 passes for 3,624 yards and finished his career second in MHSAA history in both touchdown passes (110) and total yards (8,654). Named Second Team All State was Kobe Clark of Schoolcraft. All State Honorable Mention goes out to Todd Grubbs of Hillsdale and Jordan Abrams of Niles Brandywine.
