Sturgis softball sweeps Allegan, winning streak at 9 games

(STURGIS) – The Sturgis softball team has extended their winning streak to nine games as they beat visiting Allegan 18-3 and 14-4 in Wolverine Conference play. Kiley Weiderman got the win in game one, going four innings and striking out nine. Morgan Miller was the winning pitcher in game two, with five innings of work and getting six strikeouts. At the plate, Shelby Bennett had 8 hits and 7 RBI on the day. Morgan Miller had 3 hits and 5 RBI while Weiderman had 4 RBI. Carrigan Carpenter had 6 hits and 2 RBI. Sturgis is now 12-12 overall and 7-11 in the conference.
