Sturgis falls to Three Rivers 35-7
(STURGIS) – In a battle of county and conference rivals, host Sturgis fell to Three Rivers 35-7 in Wolverine Conference football action. The Trojans were held to 167 yards of total offense on the night. Avery Cleveland was 6 of 9 through the air for 116 yards and a TD for the Trojans. Zach Chapman caught the TD pass for Sturgis, and finished with three receptions for 58 yards. On defense, Keegan Smith had 6 tackles for Sturgis while Brecken Stewart, Chapman and Tre Fuller each had 4 tackles. For Three Rivers, Jalen Heivlin was 16 of 23 for 218 yards, 4 TD's and one interception. Bryce Morlan had 7 receptions for 142 yards and 3 TD's. Morlan also led the Wildcats' defense with 9 tackles. Mitchell Coney and Tyler Moore each had 7 stops. Sturgis is now 1-2 overall and in the Wolverine Conference, while Three Rivers improves to 2-1.
