Sturgis girls golf team wins Regional title

(CENTREVILLE) – For the first time in 36 years, the Sturgis girls golf team won a Regional title. The Lady Trojans hosted the Regional at Island Hills Golf Club, and shot 375 on the day. Niles was third on the day (411), Three Rivers was fourth (423), Dowagiac was sixth (459), South Haven was 8th (471) and Vicksburg was 9th (540). Rachel Webb led the way for Sturgis, shooting 87, placing her 2nda individually. Teammates Carli Sanford and Katie Horn each had rounds of 92. Sturgis now advances to the Division 3 State Finals next week at the Forest Akers West course on the campus of Michigan State University.
