Western Michigan men top Cleveland State 78-67

(KALAMAZOO) – Sophomore Reggie Jones registered a career-high 27 points as Western Michigan men's basketball led wire-to-wire in 78-67 victory over Cleveland State on Wednesday night inside University Arena. Jones shot a staggering 50 percent (7 of 14) from the field and connected on four three-pointers while also going 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. The Marion, Ind., native impacted the game in many ways collecting five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 27 minutes. Fellow sophomore Brandon Johnson had his best scoring performance of the season against Cleveland State with 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting in a career-high 35 minutes played. Senior Thomas Wilder fouled out late in the second half but not before collecting 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Wilder has now scored in double figures in 28 straight games, the 12tha longest streak in the NCAA. Western Michigan out rebounded Cleveland State, 40-30 with junior Josh Davis leading the Broncos with 13 rebounds, tying his career-high. It's the seventh game in which Davis has led WMU in rebounding this season and second time he has had double digit rebounds. WMU will now hit the road to take on its third straight Horizon League opponent when the Broncos take on Detroit Mercy on Saturday.
