Sturgis splits baseball DH with Edwardsburg

(STURGIS) – The top two teams in the Wolverine Conference baseball standings battled Tuesday night with host and No. 17 ranked in Division 2 Sturgis splitting a double header with visiting and No. 3 ranked Edwardsburg. Sturgis won the first game 3-2 and then fell in the second game 7-3. Sam Leck notched the win in game one, giving up 5 hits and striking out 4. Brecken Stewart took the loss in game two, striking out 8 in six innings. At the plate, Drew Murphy drove in 2 runs for the Trojans. Leck and Jake Abbs each had an RBI. With the split, Sturgis and Edwardsburg are now both 12-2 in the conference standings.
