(STURGIS) - The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2026 Citizens Of The Year.

This year's citizens are Deb Capman and Barry Lindblom.

Capman moved to Sturgis in the mid-1960's and graduated from Sturgis High School in 1974. She has dedicated nearly 50 years to the banking industry, first at First National Bank in 1975 and then later Sturgis Federal Savings Bank, now Sturgis Bank & Trust in 1996.

Capman has also been involved in several Sturgis Public Schools initiatives including the Wall PAC, Parenting Fair Committee and SHS Band. She is also a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sturgis, holding several different positions.

Lindblom was born in Ionia, Michigan and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1973. After earning his Associate Degree in Automotive Technology in 1976, he began his nearly five decade career working for auto dealerships along with the City of Coldwater and independent repair shops. In 2006 he started at Meyers Automotive Service then purchased the business in 2016.

Lindblom gives back to the community in many ways. He supports local schools, robotics teams, youth sports, elementary and middle school business partner programs and senior job interviews.

Capman and Lindblom will be honored during the 2026 Sturgis Fest Kick Off Dinner.
