(ANGOLA) – There’s a fun time waiting for everyone today in Angola’s Commons Park.
The Angola Performing Arts Academy and Angola Parks and Recreation will be hosting the “Arts In The Parks” festival from 9 AM until 5 PM.
The event will feature artists booths, live music from 9 AM to 5 PM, food, and whiskey wagon by The Six on James.
Arts workshops will be available first come first serve and include a photography workshop with photographer Jim Gabbard, Japanese Candy Making with Kitchen Social, Music for littles with Music Together, Pottery glazing with Relic Emporium, and Finger-knitting with Aunt Nora.
Throughout the day, there are also live demonstrations with a pottery wheel (Janelle Slone), weaver (Will Lipscomb) and glass (Glass Park). The Yellow Frame project will be there offering all to paint at the event. There will be additional arts activities and demos at artists booths as well.
The live music line up will be Sienna Fee and Maleena Felger, Raigyn Dobson and Trade-Mark Pending, azz Pianist Reggie Berg will play from 11 AM until 12 PM. The Fort Wayne Dance Collective Japanese Taiko Drummers will be performing from 3-4 PM and the youth cover rock band Hoosier-Hill will close out the day from 4 PM to 5 PM.
Visual artists attending and selling art that day were juried to be part of the show by Angola Performing Arts Academy Youth Gallery Director, Debra Crouch, Art-Link founder, Bruce Linker, and Garrett Art Museum director, Jim Gabbard.
Free will donations for APAA will be accepted at the Registration Tent. All proceed will go toward arts programming for youth.
