The news department at Swick Broadcasting would like to apologize and correct a news story that aired last week about the arrest of Steven Ritchie of Stroh, Indiana. The incident was erroneously filed as a recent arrest when, in fact, the case dated back to 2019. This error was caused by me, Charlotte Burke, not spotting an incorrect date filed in connection with the story. The facts reported were compiled from a LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department report, but the date had been incorrectly entered. The story was then inadvertently picked up and aired on our other stations. I sincerely apologize for the mistake, and will work hard to ensure this does not occur in the future.
