(SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP) – Michigan State Police are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire.
On August 4 at 7 PM, troopers were sent to a field near the 1800 block of Blossom Road in Sherwood Township, where they found a vehicle that was on fire. Damage was so extensive that the State Police 5th District Auto Theft Unit was contacted to help identify the automobile.
On Friday, the vehicle was identified as a 2001 Ford F-150 pick up, that was reported stolen from Ohio on July 15.
Witnesses told troopers they saw two vehicles in the immediate area when the fire was discovered. One of the vehicles has been located and the driver contacted. Troopers are still looking for the second vehicle, which is described as an older model red or maroon passenger car.
If anyone has information on this vehicle, they are asked to call the State Police Post in Marshall at 269-558-0500.
