(STURGIS) – An early morning stop led to a woman being arrested on multiple charges.
Just before 3 AM Thursday, Sturgis Police stopped a woman on a bicycle that did not have a headlight. Officers asked for her ID, but the woman did not have one. Instead she provided her name and birthdate.
Officers discovered that the 27 year old woman had a warrant out for her arrest. She confessed that she had a warrant out for her arrest, and had used her sister's name instead of her own. Police told her that her sister was also wanted.
Police searched the woman and found she was in possession of meth as well as a meth pipe.
The woman is charged with possession of meth, possession of narcotic equipment, providing false ID to police and on a failure to appear warrant. She is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.
