(COLDWATER) – A plea agreement has been entered into by a Coldwater woman in a child abuse case.
Branch County Circuit Court personnel say 26 year old Jamie Siler pled no contest on a charge of attempted second degree child abuse. She was originally charged with second degree child abuse and child sexually abusive activity. Those were dismissed by the Acting Branch County Prosecutor Valerie White.
Siler and her boyfriend, 24 year old Brandon Biggs, were arrested following an investigation by Michigan State Police that started in February 2018. Troopers say Siler did not stop Biggs from committing crimes involving an eight year old girl, which took place over eight months. It's also alleged Biggs shared pictures of the abuse online.
Biggs was sentenced to serve between 6.5 and 10 years after he pled no contest to charges of distributing and promoting child abusive material; having child sexually abusive material and assault with intent to commit sexual penetration.
Siler will be sentenced September 30.
