(COLDWATER) – A former Coldwater resident has been sentenced on charges of stealing vehicles.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say 38 year Andrew Hamlin of Franklin, Kentucky, and formerly of Coldwater, was sentenced Monday to serve between 18 months and five years in jail. Earlier this year Hamlin plead guilty to three counts of motor vehicle theft and unlawful driving away. A fourth charge was dismissed by the Branch County Prosecutor's Office in exchange for the pleas.
Court officials say the thefts happened between December 10, 2018 and February 13, 2019.
Coldwater Police issued a media release on February 15 saying they were looking for Hamlin in connection with several complaints of stolen vehicles. Three days later, Coldwater authorities announced that Hamlin had been arrested in Indianapolis.
Hamlin's sentences will run concurrently.
