(CENTREVILLE) – An over 30 year career in law enforcement will be coming to an end in January 2020.
During Tuesday's St. Joseph County Commission meeting, Sheriff Brad Balk announced that he will not be running for another term in office and will be retiring effective January 31 of 2020.
In an interview with WBET/FSR 1230, Balk explains why he is retiring now. LINKC.
During the 11 years Balk has been Sheriff, he says there were some tasks that he was glad to help get done. LINKD.
Balk says that when he retires, Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite will finish out the remainder of his term until a new sheriff is elected in November 2020.
