(COLDWATER) – A Sturgis man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle at knifepoint.
According to Branch County District Court officials, 26 year old Joshua Summey was arraigned Tuesday on charges of domestic violence, assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful driving away of an automobile and driving with a suspended license.
Summey was arrested by Michigan State Police at 1 AM Tuesday at Dove's Landing off of Union City Road. Troopers were contacted after a woman called and reported Summey allegedly demanded the keys to her automobile and then drove away.
Court officials say Summey also waived his extradition to Noble County, Indiana. The Branch County charges will be settled before Summey is turned over to Indiana authorities.
Summey is being held on $35,000 bond. He will have a preliminary hearing November 19.
