(GIRARD) – A call of a suspicious vehicle led to the arrest of two people.
Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler says that deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle on East Girard Road near the east limits of Girard around 7 AM Tuesday. The vehicle had pulled into a private driveway, and deputies say the driver, a 40 year old Albion man, got out of the automobile and ran into a wooded area.
A passenger in the car, a 26 year old Albion women was detained by officers.
Sheriff's K-9 Officer Chaos and his handler were brought in and tracked the man, who was taken into custody after a short chase.
Deputies searched the vehicle and found several items from local stores along with personal property including burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals were taken to the Branch County Jail where they face several local charges along with being wanted on warrants from other Michigan police agencies.
