(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – One person was injured when a car collided with a bicycle.
Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says his deputies were called to investigate an accident just after 6:30 PM Sunday in Newberg Township.
Deputies say the driver of a Chevy Malibu was heading north on M-40 near Hoffman Road and came over a hill. The driver says they did not see 57 year old David Hutchins of Jones, who was riding a bicycle and struck him.
Hutchins was taken to Three Rivers Health to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the car was not injured, and was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.
Assisting deputies were the Newberg Township Fire Department, the Newberg Ambulance Service and the Three Rivers Ambulance.
