(ANGOLA) – Two employees at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital have tested positive for coronavirus.
In a news release, hospital officials say one of the employees lives in Steuben County and one in DeKalb County. Both are currently observing in home isolation, in accordance with guidelines from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention. No other information has been released on the individuals.
Cameron officials says they have been actively screening staff and providers who present symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath, and who meet the CDC criteria for evaluation of COVID-19 infection. Any individuals known to be at risk for COVID-19 infection are immediately isolated to prevent the potential spread of the virus to others.
Both the Steuben and DeKalb County Health Departments are working closely on these cases to identify and monitor any close contacts of the patients who might have been exposed to ensure that appropriate precautions are taken in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Cameron Hospital will continue strict visitation guidelines in an effort to protect patients and staff from the COVID-19 outbreak.
