
(UNDATED) – Health officials are reporting there are 17 new cases of COVID-19 in Southern Michigan as of Thursday afternoon.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says 3 new cases of the coronavirus have been detected in St. Joseph County. That makes 93 people who have tested positive and 2 people who have died.
In Branch County, 4 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported, bringing the number of people who have the virus to 99. There have been 2 deaths. Hillsdale County has 3 new cases of the coronavirus, making 168 residents who have the virus, and 24 people who have died.
There were no new cases of COVID-19 at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. 793 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for the virus, and there have been 22 inmate deaths.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says 7 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Cass County. 68 people have now tested positive in the county and there have been 2 deaths.
There were 501 new cases of coronavirus reported in Michigan, which makes 53,510 people total that have the virus. There were also 69 people who passed away. 5,129 Michigan residents have died from the virus.
