(CENTREVILLE) – The St. Joseph County Intermediate School District Board of Education will be looking for a new member.
Sarah Vollmer announced during Monday's ISD Board meeting that she would be resigning her position, effective June 8. Vollmer said she and her family are moving out of the County because her husband's job is being re-located.
Vollmer was appointed to the ISD Board of Education on October 21, 2019 to finish out the term of Mike Bosma, who had passed away earlier in the month. Vollmer was one of four candidates that interviewed for the seat.
ISD officials say under Michigan Law, a school board must fill a vacancy within 30 days of its occurrence. A special ISD Board of Education meeting will be held on July 6 at 4:30 PM to select Vollmer's replacement.
More information on how to apply for the vacancy will be released soon. Whoever is selected by the Board will be asked to finish out Vollmer's term, which runs until June 2021.
