
(UNDATED) – As of Friday afternoon, there are 8 new cases of coronavirus in Southern Michigan.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says there are 3 new cases of COVID-19 in St. Joseph County. 96 people now have the virus, and there have been 2 deaths.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says 5 new cases have been detected in Cass County, bringing their total number of residents infected with coronavirus to 73. There have been 2 deaths in the county.
Branch County has no new cases of COVID-19. They have 99 people who have the virus and 2 people who have died from it. There were no new cases in Hillsdale County, making 168 residents who have tested positive for coronavirus and 24 people who have died.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says there are no new
cases of the coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. 793 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for the virus, and there have been 22 inmate deaths.
There were 403 new cases of COVID-19 around Michigan. That makes 53,913 people who have contracted the virus. 29 more deaths are being reported in the State, which means to date, 5,158 people have died from the coronavirus.
