(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Indiana State Department Of Health says 70 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported around Northeast Indiana as of Friday afternoon.
LaGrange County has 1 new case, which brings the number of residents with coronavirus to 58. There have been 2 deaths in the county.
Six new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in Noble County. That means 167 citizens have tested positive, while 20 people have died from the virus. Steuben County is reporting another death from the coronavirus. That means 2 people have died in the County. There were also 4 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of people infected to 77.
DeKalb County has no new cases of the coronavirus. There are 26 people who have contracted the virus and 1 person who has died. Elkhart County has 59 new cases of COVID-19. To date, 903 residents have been diagnosed with the virus, and 27 people have died.
Statewide, 493 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, bringing the state total of people infected to 30,409. There were also 27 more people who have died from the virus, which means 1,791 people have died around Indiana.
The State Department of Health says from Thursday to Friday, 5,605 Indiana residents were tested for COVID-19. All total, 208,561 Hoosiers have received a test for COVID-19, with 14.6 percent of the tests coming back as positive.
