(COLON) – Work is scheduled to start Tuesday to resurface a portion of M-86 east of Colon.
Nick Schrippa with the Michigan Department of Transportation says 2.2 miles of M-86 will be resurfaced from Farrand Road to Kane Road. The project, which will cost $987,000, will include new concrete curb and gutter, along with upgraded sidewalk ramps.
The work will extend the life of the roadway and improve the ride quality and safety for motorists. The upgraded sidewalk ramps will also improve accessibility, mobility and safety for pedestrians.
Schrippa says one lane will be open in each direction with traffic regulators. The project should be finished by August 21.
