(GARRETT) – An investigation into the death of a Garrett man has led to the arrest of his wife.
On May 24, the DeKalb County Coroner's Office began a death investigation. Authorities found 51 year old David Converset dead at a residence in the 1100 block of Franklin Street in Garrett. An autopsy was conducted by the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center which revealed evidence suggesting a manner of death other than by accidental or natural causes.
The Coroner's Office contacted the Indiana State Police who assisted in the investigation. With help from the ISP Crime Scene Investigators, detectives discovered incriminating evidence establishing probable cause for the arrest of Converset's wife, 47 year old Michelle Converset.
ISP arrested Michelle Converset on May 29 on felony charges of murder and aggravated battery. She is being held in the DeKalb County Jail, pending an initial hearing.
