(UNDATED) – There were 21 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 deaths reported in Southern Michigan over the weekend.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says there was another death in St. Joseph County. That makes 5 people who have died from the virus. There were also 9 new cases, which means 314 people now have COVID-19.
There was also another death in Cass County, where 6 people have now died. In addition, 9 new cases were reported, making 149 people who have tested positive for coronavirus.
There were no new cases in Branch County. 244 people have the coronavirus and there have been 2 deaths. Hillsdale County has 3 new cases, which means 188 people who have tested positive and 25 people have died.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were no new cases of coronavirus at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater. That makes 39 staff members and 793 inmates who have tested positive. There have also been 23 inmate deaths.
Statewide, there were 741 new cases of COVID-19, which means 65,876 Michiganders have the virus. There were also 3 new deaths, which makes 5,972 people who have died from COVID-19.
