(ANGOLA) – The Angola Plan Commission reviewed two cases Monday evening, approving one and denying the other.
The Council passed a rezoning request from 1Synergy LLC to rezone property with an address located east of Westview Drive onto both Meyers and Koeklinger Streets in Angola, Indiana. The request was to rezone from Single-Family Residential, or R2, to a High Density Multiple-Family Residential District, or R5.
The rezoning comes with a written commitment from the developer that there would only be a single level retirement community built on the land as presented to the board. Council also heard a presentation from Shannon Thomas, the Executive Director of Turning Point Shelter of Steuben County. She reported the shelter has started GED classes and testing for residents.
The shelter houses 189 people.
