(COLDWATER) – Branch County voters have selected the individuals they want to run for the County Commission in November.
During Tuesday's Republican Primary Election, voters selected incumbent Second District Commissioner Leonard Kolcz to see re-election. He defeated Michael Thyng 900-373.
In the Fourth District race for the Republican nomination, former County Commissioner Jon Houtz beat Greg Ware 699-433. Current Fourth District Commissioner Ted Gordon is not seeking re-election.
In the First District, Tim Stoll ran unopposed and won the Republican nomination with 1,255 votes. In the Third District, incumbent Commissioner Tom Matthew ran unopposed and won the Republican nomination with 1,380 votes and in the Fifth District, incumbent Randall Hazelbaker also ran unopposed and received the Republican nomination with 1,335 votes.
There were no Democratic candidates for any of the Commission seats.
