(NEWBERG TOWNSHIP) – One person was injured when a car collided with a motorcycle.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says just after 7 PM Friday, 60 year old John O'Brien of Downers Grove, Illinois was driving west on M-60 near M-40 in Newberg Township. O'Brien told deputies he was starting to turn into the Shell Gas Station and did not see a motorcycle heading east on
M-60, and the two vehicles collided.
Deputies did not say if O'Brien or the driver of the motorcycle, 45 year old Joseph Silva of Elkhart, were injured. Silva's passenger, Emily Silva, was taken to Three Rivers Health to be treated for minor injuries.
O'Brien was wearing his seatbelt and the Silvas were wearing helmets at the time of the collision. The Newberg Township Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.
