(MARCELLUS TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured when the motorcycle they were on collided with a pickup in Marcellus Township.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says at 9:13 PM Saturday, 21 year old Christopher Hoeppner of Three Rivers pulled out of a driveway onto Marcellus Highway in front of a westbound motorcycle. The bike collided with Hoeppner's pickup, ejecting 25 year old Olivia Hines of Dowagiac and 28 year old Jordan Hawkins of Marcellus.
Hawkins and Hines were taken by ambulance and West Michigan Air Care to Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. Deputies say they were not wearing their helmets at the time of the crash. There was no word on if Hoeppner was injured, but he was wearing his seat belt.
Assisting at the scene were Marcellus and Pride Care Ambulance and Michigan State Police. The incident remains under investigation.
